A Picture Says a Thousand Words
I wrote my last blog post about how much we love our chickens and how we are so easily entertained by them, but they truly pale in comparison to the entertainment that we were blessed with over the Christmas holiday.
We had the great joy of having our middle daughter and son-in-law, Jess and Justin, and precious granddaughter Della with us for nine days. For two of those days we added to the mix our oldest daughter and her husband, Dani and Sean, and for one fun-filled night we completed the family with youngest daughter Jaclyn. Nine of us in our tiny little carriage house. It was quite a dance to sleep, cook and bathe with this crowd, but we absolutely loved every minute of it. Oh yeah, then on Christmas morning Brad’s Mom and Dad, Don and Alene, (aka Grammy and Grandad…aka Gigi and GiPaw) joined us for present opening. That makes 11!
I love this picture of us because it’s not a typical pic where everyone is posed together and looking at the camera. It’s a moment in time where no one is worried about getting the good side…is the hair right…are the eyes open. The expression on each face is wholly authentic and in the moment. We all look completely fascinated by the smallest human in the room. And the funny thing is that this probably happened over and over and over again. Babies are the best!
Hope your Christmas was filled with precious times and that the New Year has been ushered in with love, hope and joy!
